University of Bridgeport's School of Business to Host Renowned Leaders from the World of Sports in "The Business of Sports" Symposium on September 22, 2023
Bridgeport, CT (09/12/2023) — University of Bridgeport's Ernest C. Trefz School of Business is excited to host "The Business of Sports" symposium on Friday, September 22, from 1 - 3 p.m. The symposium will gather speakers representing regional, national, and international sports leagues, focusing on sports management and leadership. Organized by students in the University's Sport Management program, this event is free and open to the public and will be held in Mandeville Hall room 107, located at 126 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The moderated panel discussion will include an open Q and A session, allowing audience members the opportunity to ask experts about the business of professional athletics and eSports.
Scheduled to speak at the event are Bill Manning, the president of the Toronto Football Club, president of the Toronto Argonauts, and University of Bridgeport alum; Brendan Donohue, president of the NBA 2K League; and John Mathers, a sports management consultant with the Bridgeport Islanders.
"The Ernest C. Trefz School of Business at University of Bridgeport strives to provide students with hands-on learning experiences to help them graduate and leave UB truly career ready. This student-run event does just that while also giving students and community members the chance to learn from prominent sport management professionals active in the field," stated Dr. Timothy Raynor, director and associate professor of Ernest C. Trefz School of Business.
